Training for the Trainer, 2 days

The workshop will focus on the principles of Adult Education through the development and delivery of training.  The use of the Experiential Learning Cycle will be discussed as a basis for design and allow participants to develop a hands approach to quick and easy design methods.  The participants will be able to determine that learning is taking place in the learning environment through different methods and will also get a better understanding of the training process in general.

The learners will be able to

• Develop training concepts around the Experiential Learning Cycle
• Determine who their audience is and what their needs are
• Identify the techniques determining learners needs
• Understand how the learning objective drives the course
• Identify their own training and learning style*
• Understand the reasons learners don't get involved
• Develop techniques to design workshops around the four learning styles
• Develop techniques to facilitate effectively for all styles
• Work with lesson plans that are concise and complete
• Improve their own training style
• Overcome any facilitation concerns

A third day can be added and in that day, participants facilitate 10 – 40 minute presentation (depending on number in programme) and all presentations are video taped.  Each person gets their own video for future reference.
